FV2 CE: “The Halloween Adventure!”

25 October 2016 FarmMaster 0

As Halloween approaches, Uncle Ahab has been entertaining the twins with stories of his “adventures.” The kids absolutely love his stories, and want to dress up like some of the characters for Trick or Treating! Johnny would like our help to get the decorations up, costumes made, and everything ready for trick or treating…
…Sure hope he cleared this with Heidi?!
If you are at least level 14, you will see a pop-up inviting you to the Halloween Event! You will need to force close the game to see the update, which means to clear it from your mobile device’s memory. You may even need to reboot your device.
Start off the event by tapping on the Event Green. Dressed as a Trick or Treat Village, where kids could trick or treat at various stations instead of going to houses, the event green will surely get you in the mood for some Halloween spook!

Finish the rare Halloween Anniversary Event items List on or before November 06 to get the exclusive, limited-time Horseman Farm Hand and much more!

FV2 CE: “The FarmVille Games!”

15 September 2016 FarmMaster 0

The First Annual FarmVille Games are here and it’s time to show what you’re made of! Compete in fun-filled farm games and go for the gold!

If you are at least level 12, you will see a pop-up inviting you to the FarmVille Games! You will need to force close the game to see the update, which means to clear it from your mobile device’s memory. You may even need to reboot your device.

Start off the quests by visiting the FarmVille Games Stadium, located behind Eagle Eye Eddie’s airplane. The Event HQ is where you earn Style points, and display the leaderboard.

The FarmVille Games start on 9/14/2016. It has 2 stages, giving you a total of 12 days to compete with players for the top leaderboard position and complete the FarmVille Games quests.

The top 5 players at the end of each stage get to earn the exclusive Greyhound Farm Hand. Those ending up in the Silver tier will get  Gold Stamps, Padlocks, and Keys, while players in the Bronze tier will get Silver Stamps, Padlocks, and Golden Gloves!

The 2nd Stage will start on 9/20/2016, giving you another shot to win the Greyhound as a Farm Hand. If you have won the Greyhound from the first stage, this stage will give you the chance to upgrade her to a Tracksuit Greyhound.

Note: You will only be able to earn one of the rewards, not all three! Your rank on the last day of the event determines the reward you will receive!

The FarmVille Games Stadium is located behind Eagle Eye Eddie. You will see 3 orders at a time that either can be harvested (crops), or crafted. Each item requested will have a different timer to allow you time to get the items needed.

Tip: Check the Farm Stand often to see if your friends are selling what you need.

Boosts: Gold and Silver Torches

You can boost the amount of Sytle points by 50% for coins, or by 100% with keys. There will be a timer once a boost is activated and a short cool-down period when you can buy another boost. Boosts will last 1 hour, and you can only select one boost at a time. (prices subject to change based on level)

Leaderboard:

The second tab will show you the leaderboard that you are in. Not everyone you know will be in the same leaderboard. The leaderboard tab will tell you which prize category you are currently in (Gold, Silver, or Bronze). You can also see how you rank among your friends. To be fair to all, you will be in a leaderboard with others of the same level.

Rewards:
You will see 3 different rewards that are broken into tiers. If you are in the top (Gold) portion of your leaderboard on the final day of the event, you will get the exclusive Greyhound Farm Hand. If you are in the middle tier (Silver) at the end of the event, you will receive 2 Gold Stamps, 2 Padlocks and 10 Keys. The lowest tier (Bronze) will reward you with 1 Silver Stamp, a Padlock, and 5 Golden Gloves. You will only receive one of the rewards at the end, not all three.

Temporary Place of Interest: Training Field

Across the road from the Event HQ is the Training Field. You can send up to 3 Farm Hands here to get Event items such as Ripe Watermelon, Almonds, and Rubber Extract.

FV Tropic Escape: “What are Geodes?”

4 September 2016 FarmMaster 0
Domingo says that the Geodes are gifts from Zemi the volcano spirit. Geodes are found by expanding to new plots of land. A new Geode looks like this:
Use Tools to extract crystals from the Geodes.
Geodes randomly give three types of crystals:
  • orange crystals
  • blue crystals
  • purple crystals
Each Tool is better for getting a specific color of crystal from a Geode:
  • Pickaxe = orange crystals
  • Mallet = blue crystals
  • Shovel = purple crystals
geode&tool_choices.png
Get more Tools by completing guest orders at the Order Board, or buy with Gems.
geode_buy_tool.png
Using a Tool on a Geode starts the process, but it takes a while before the crystals are released and can be collected. The Geode glows while preparing to be collected.
geode_glowing.png
Tap on the Geode to see when it will be ready to be collected. You can use Sunshine or Gems to rush the process.
geode_timer.png
Once the Geode is ready for collection, it will sparkle.
geode_sparkles.png
Tap on it and collect your crystals. You’ll receive XP, crystals, and sometimes other random rewards such as Sunshine or Quick-Sand.
geodes_rewards.png
About Crystals: Crystals are used to craft valuable Goods at the Jeweler.
You can use Goods made with crystals to complete special orders at the Order Board that reward you with Sand Dollars, and for other special uses.
You’ll be able to collect many crystals from each Geode, but they don’t last forever. Eventually a Geode will run out of crystals and disappear. This is a Geode about halfway through its life:
geodes_second_stage.png
And this is a Geode that will soon disappear:
geodes_nearly_gone.png
When your Geode looks like this, it’s time to look for another one! Keep expanding to new land plots to find Geodes.

FV Tropic Escape: “What are Helicopter Orders?”

4 September 2016 FarmMaster 0
Helicopter orders are part of running a celebrity resort! They unlock at Level 16. Tap on the Helipad or Helicopter to open the Helicopter Orders window.
Helicopter orders ask for multiple Goods and all orders shown must be completed to earn the valuable Sand Dollar rewards.
Tap on one of the orders to either Fill Order or Ask for Help. You receive coins and XP for filling the individual orders.
A green checkmark means you have filled that order. Tapping Fill Order for Goods you don’t have will give you a pop-up with a hint on how to fill the order.
fvte 19.jpg
Tap Ask for Help if you’re having trouble making or buying enough of the Goods you need to complete the orders. This will send a request for help to your friends, who may be able to complete the rest of the order for you.
Remember to return the favor when someone asks for help! Go to a friend’s island and tap on their Helipad to finish filling their order.
Tapping Skip will send the Helicopter away and you’ll have to wait for it to return with a new set of orders.
Helicopter orders are timed. You need to complete all the orders before the Helicopter departs in order to receive the Sand Dollar reward.

Use Sand Dollars to purchase additional Animals and trees at the Island Store.

FV Tropic Escape: “What is the Top Resort Tournament?”

1 September 2016 FarmMaster 0

We know everyone has been working hard to earn those three stars on their Weekly Resort Ratings. Now take it to the next step.

Introducing the Top Resort Tournament! For the final three days of each week, resort owners battle it out for amazing prizes.

Show that your resort is the crème de la crème, the best resort destination of them all.

Earn Weekly Resort Rating points by crafting Goods to participate in the Tournament leaderboard.
Access the leaderboard by tapping on the Weekly Resort Rating board in front of your inn.

Then tap on the tab with the “trophy” icon to open the Tournament window.

At the top of the Top Resort Tournament window you’ll see a timer. It shows:

a) when the next competition starts; or

b) how much longer the current Tournament will run.

If you win First Place, you’ll receive a special Tournament animal that will stay in your resort for one week, and then leave.
These animals can help you greatly in the next Top Resort Tournament.

If you win a Tournament animal, open the Island Store and go to the Animals tab to find it.
Drag it onto your island to begin using it, but be warned, the animal will leave in one week whether you use it or not.

Once you’ve placed the Tournament animal, the Animals tab will show you how much time is left before it leaves.

This is the Top Resort Tournament window showing an active Tournament with the rankings of the players,  how many points you need to move up in the rankings, and the prizes.

At the bottom of the screen, there are three boosts you can use to increase your crafting points:

• GOOD is free for the first spin to receive a random boost. If you don’t like the boost you receive on the free spin, you can pay Gems to try for a more useful boost.

• BETTER costs Gems, but gives you a better boost that increased your crafting by three times. Again, if you don’t like what you receive, you can pay Gems to try for a different boost, but the Gem cost will keep going up with each spin.

• BEST costs more Gems, but gives you the best boosts that increase your crafting by four times. You can pay more Gems to spin again for a different boost.

In the example shown here, the free Good boost shows that every time you craft one Fish Taco, you’ll receive two Fish Tacos.

FV Tropic Escape: “What is the Weekly Resort Rating?”

29 August 2016 FarmMaster 0

fvte44.jpg
From here, you can check on your progress and the remaining time before the Weekly Resort Rating ends.
fvte43.jpg

Certain Guides only become available to visit a landmark when you have unlocked their landmark. The current Guides and the landmarks that unlock them for use are:
  • Coral Reef = Domingo, Chloe at Level 4
  • Hot Spring = Maya at Level 12
  • Smugglers’ Cave = Luis at Level 18
  • Merchant Shipwreck = Zack at Level 24
  • Sky Cliffs = Lola at Level 30
Kate is too busy driving the boat and delivering orders to visit the landmarks.
On the left is your roster of available Guides. You may also have Guests to use. To get Guests, join a Beach Club and ask your Club members to send you a Guest.
Tap and hold on a Guide or Guest, then drag them onto the landmark. You can see that each landmark has positions for a number of visitors. The number of visitors you can send changes from landmark to landmark.

The more Guides and Guests you send, the better your chances become to win the rewards shown on the right side of the landmark window. Notice how each reward has a colored ring around it. The rings indicate your chances of winning that reward at the end of the visit as follows:
  • a full green ring means you’re guaranteed to get that reward
  • a partial green ring means you have a high chance.
  • a yellow ring means you have a medium chance.
  • a red ring means you have a low chance.
The number on the reward indicates how many of that item you’ll receive.
The Mystery Chest gives random rewards, often a valuable storage part.

When you’ve placed your Guides or Guests, tap on the green button at the bottom to start the visit. The button also shows you how long the visit takes.

When the landmark visit is complete, you’ll see the Question Mark icon on the left side of the screen.

Tap on the Question Mark icon to be taken to the landmark that is ready to be collected.
There will also be a green Question Mark over the landmark itself when it’s ready.
Tap on the landmark, and then tap on each reward!
If you win a Mystery Chest, tap it to reveal more rewards and tap on the bonus rewards to collect them.

Tap on the green left or right arrow to the side of the landmark’s name to move to the next landmark.

Landmarks are unlocked by level, so keep leveling up and expanding to reach all of the landmarks!
Note: If your storage is full, you will be unable to collect the rewards from the landmark until you have enough space in your Silo and/or Boathouse.

FV2 CE: “The Equestrian Showcase!”

8 July 2016 FarmMaster 0
An Equestrian Showcase is coming to the farm and it’s time to groom your horses, find your fanciest saddle and prepare for the judging!
If you are at least level 12, you will see a pop-up inviting you to the Equestrian Showcase Event!
You will need to force close the game to see the update, which means to clear it from your mobile device’s memory. You may even need to reboot your device.
Start off the quests by visiting the Equestrian Arena located behind Eagle Eye Eddie’s airplane. The Event HQ is where you earn Equestrian Showcase points, and display the leaderboard.
The Equestrian Showcase Event starts on 7/5/2016. It has 2 stages, each giving you 6 days to compete with players for the top leaderboard position and complete the Equestrian Showcase quests.
The top 5 players at the end of each stage get to earn the exclusive Farm Hand, Charlotte. Those ending up in the Silver tier will get  Gold Stamps, Padlocks, and Keys, while players in the Bronze tier will get Silver Stamps, Padlocks, and Golden Gloves!
The 2nd Stage will start on 7/11/2016, giving you another shot to win Charlotte as a Farm Hand. If you won Charlotte from the first stage, this stage will give you the chance to upgrade her to Show Champion Charlotte.
**You will only be able to earn one of the rewards, not all three! Your rank on the last day of the event determines the reward you will receive!**
The Equestrian Arena is located behind Eagle Eye Eddie. You will see 3 orders at a time that either can be harvested (crops), or crafted. Each item requested will have a different timer to allow you time to get the items needed.
Tip: Check the Farm Stand often to see if your friends are selling what you need.
Boosts: Golden, and Silver Horseshoe
You can boost the amount of Equestrian Showcase points by 50% for coins, or by 100% with keys.
If you are in the top (Gold) portion of your leaderboard on the final day of the event, you will get the exclusive Farm Hand, Charlotte.
Temporary Place of Interest: Training Area & Stables
Across the road from the Event HQ is the Training Area & Stables. You can send Farm Hands here to get Event items such as Molasses, Alfalfa, and Fine Leather.

Aside from coins and XP, you will see a new item reward when you sell your goods at Marie’s new Orderboard – timber! These chopped wood pieces are needed to upgrade your workshops.

If you have multiple Workshops of the same type, you can upgrade them separately to make way faster!
Note: Each Workshop upgrade level has a corresponding coin, timber and level requirement. Upgrade requirements are the same for all Workshops of the same level.
